What is a coaching session like?

Our 60 minute zoom or phone session will include a varity of tools and conversation. I use mind/body/spirit awareness to help you tap into your wholeness.

Some sessions include breathwork, guided visualizations or meditations. We may do some inner child healing and some somatic tracking to help you find the pain and work through it.

Towards the end of the session, I will help you to come up with an action step you can take over the coming days to put all you’ve learned into practice. 

What are your areas of expertise, what kind of coaching do you do?
I am your biggest supporter and guide to the life you really want. I hold up a mirror and help you see where you are holding yourself back and reflect back to you what you really want. I show you how to get to where you want to go. If you are desperate for change and transformation…I’m your gal.

Life Coaching: My main areas of coaching center around adjusting to change and transformation. I am a graduate of Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training (Oprah’s life coach). I can help you find your inner compass and the path towards your best life. I don’t give you the answers (sorry!) but I help navigate you toward happiness and success in your life.

Wellness Coaching: I also am a certified health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I provide guidance and accountability to my clients to help them reach their wellness goals. I use nutrition, yoga and mindfulness to help my clients find balance, reduce overwhelm around food and find ways to improve their health and overall wellness. Together we find the style of eating that is right for you, no one-size fits all, each client has a specific plan created around their bio-individual needs.

Yoga and Meditation: I am also an RYT 200 hour certified yoga teacher. I teach a combination of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga and infuse guided relaxation and meditation into my classes to create experiences that are grounded and gentle. I help my clients create peace and wellbeing using all of my mind-body training.

How is coaching different from therapy?
I like to use this analogy: You go to the doctor or therapist when you are in acute pain. You need help feeling well again.

You go to a coach or personal trainer when you want to get into shape. When you want to learn the tools to take you to the next level.

What was your wellness journey like?

My first experience with loss happened in my early twenties when my baby sister died. I spent more than a decade trying to outrun grief but eventually it caught up to me in the form of chronic pain and depression.

In my 30’s I started having chronic headaches and I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and Endometriosis. I had a major surgery that left me depressed and in bed for about a year and a half. Food was my only comfort and I ended up gaining 30 lbs. I missed out on a lot of life, and struggled with depression and anxiety every single day. I lost most of my relationships and the loneliness got worse and worse.

I felt purpose-less
I felt hope-less
I felt shackled by pain and health issues

Just before turning 40, I decided to take control of my health and started learning about insulin resistance, gut health and how to eat for MY body. All my energy went into my recovery and to date I’ve lost over 50lbs. I’ve been a student of alternative health for decades and I always opt for natural remedies when I can. I believe the body can and will heal itself. I believe that the body holds the answers to what we truly want in life. The body is amazing and can heal itself if we give it the right nutrition and learn to manage our stress.

Today I feel AMAZING, even better than I did before I got sick, I have an abundance of energy and I no longer have to deal with seasonal illness.

Long story short: I know what it’s like to feel sick, isolated and without purpose.
But I also know what it’s like to recover and to GET YOUR LIFE BACK.

What are your core beliefs?

My core beliefs

  1. Everyone deserves to feel good – This is your birthright. Even in the midst of chaos or loss, you deserve to have wellness.
  2. Work through your shit – no one is going to do this for you. But it is required to live the life that is meant for you. You must become a seeker and put in the work.
  3. Take action – action relieves anxiety. If you are frozen in fear, this is your wake up call. The only way out is through. Take action, do the thing you’re scared of. You won’t regret it.
  4. Food is medicine – The body is amazing and can heal itself if we give it the right nutrition and learn to manage our stress. Healing your body is easier than you think , you just have to take the first step.
